On the sunny afternoon of April 17, 2025, the enchanting forest of Guðmundarlundur in Kopavogur transformed into a magical wonderland for the annual Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt. This highly anticipated event, now in its fourth year, is designed specifically for children aged 4-9 and features beloved fairytale characters who guide young adventurers through an exciting Easter egg hunt.
A Magical Day for Kids and Families
The Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt saw 82 eager children participate, despite having 120 sign-ups. The event was organized in 30-minute slots, with earlier time slots seeing the highest attendance. As the day progressed, participation decreased slightly, but the enthusiasm and joy remained constant throughout the event.
The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated Easter egg hunt, which made excellent use of the beautiful forest setting. Each child was guaranteed fantastic prizes, including small toys and delicious chocolate eggs. In addition to the egg hunt, the event offered a fun-filled bubble station and complimentary snacks for all guests, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
Beloved Characters and Special Guests
Children were thrilled to meet and interact with their favorite fairytale characters, including the Snow Princess, the Snow Queen and the Mountain Man, as well as Garðabrúða. Due to an unexpected emergency, our scheduled performer was unable to attend. However, two friends graciously stepped in at the last minute, portraying two Chinese Pirates and ensuring the event ran smoothly.
The atmosphere was electric, with beautiful weather and overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. In an exciting turn of events, the National News Broadcaster made an unexpected visit and featured the Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt on the evening news, showcasing the magic and joy experienced by all.
A Smooth and Successful Event
While we were initially disappointed by the number of no-shows, the event itself was our smoothest yet. With minimal disruptions and no theft of eggs, the Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt 2025 proved to be a resounding success.
This magical event was made possible thanks to the generous support of the city of Kópavogur. Their grant funds were instrumental in covering the costs of performers, prizes, snacks, advertising, and materials, ensuring that the Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt could continue to bring joy and excitement to the children of Kópavogur.
