The Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt 2024: A Community Tradition
Once again, the charming princesses of Hellisgerði, Hafnarfjörður, took center stage for the 3rd installment of their Easter egg hunt, delighting children and families alike.
This year’s event was made possible through a collaborative effort with the city of Hafnarfjörður, which provided not only a financial grant but also granted permission to utilize the park for the festivities. However, it was the generous support from the Karolina Fund that ensured the event could flourish to its fullest extent, allowing our talented performers to receive their deserved compensation.
The presence of sponsors like Ölgerðin, who provided refreshments in the form of crisps and juice, added an extra layer of enjoyment for attendees. It’s always essential to cater to the needs of young participants, and Ölgerðin’s contribution certainly helped keep energy levels high throughout the day.
While the chocolate eggs provided by Nói Síríus were standard fare, their presence added to the festive atmosphere, proving once again that everyone, regardless of age, enjoys a sweet treat.
Our hosts, including the Snow Queen, Snow Princess, Mountain Man, and Garðabrúða, played integral roles throughout the event. From greeting guests at the entrance to patrolling the park and assisting attendees, their presence ensured a smoothly run and enjoyable experience for all.
One particularly heartwarming aspect of the event was the interaction between our Ukrainian performer and Ukrainian refugee children. Their connection highlighted the inclusive nature of the Easter egg hunt, which saw a significant turnout from both Ukrainian and Venezuelan refugee communities.
As for entertainment, bubbles and pavement chalks provided endless fun for the children, with some even showcasing their artistic talents on the sidewalk to the amazement of our princesses.
The event’s success was further solidified by the positive feedback received from attendees, many of whom expressed gratitude for the organization and seamless execution of the day’s activities. The growing tradition of the Prinsessur Easter Egg Hunt was evident, with many already marking it as an annual must-attend event.
